Vensters

After two years of collecting, restoring, analysing and reformulating, Vensters by the Belgian composer Lucien Goethals is back in an optimal concert form. The daring combination of analogue and digital media makes Vensters the first Belgian ​‘expanded’ film. The audiovisual piece with a libretto by poet Jan van der Hoeven was intended for two speakers, a set of tape recorders, three 16mm projectors, a cello, a piano and three percussionists. Due to technical problems, the piece was only performed once.

VENSTERS is a research project by Karin de Fleyt (University of Antwerp) and is presented in collaboration with HERMESensemble, students and alumni of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, and Juan Parra Cancino (sound engineer).
