Join us for a bold and wide-ranging Sunday afternoon screening around filmic approaches to space, curated by the young programmer and filmmaker Raouf Moussa (KASK). With 16mm and 35mm projection!

A screening split into three parts, each going into different aspects of the interaction between space, camera and subject. Challenging preconceived notions of landscape’, they question the dominant perspectives these views produce as a way to find shared authorship.

The opening program focuses on representations of landscape through different visual media, reflecting on how our relation to space is shaped and mediated by them. It aims to disrupt these representations from within the system where they originated.

The second series of films explore machine vision in relation to land and space, driven by of the human urge for control. This program examines its influence on our own vision of the world and the subsequent detachment from our immediate surroundings.

The final part looks into new approaches towards space through the body’s interconnectedness with the cinematic apparatus. Trying to find ways to reconnect with space through filmmaking, this program focuses on the relationality between body, apparatus and space where images are an outcome rather than being predetermined.

Program: Raouf Moussa (KASK)
