Lisa Spilliaert grew up in Japan and Belgium. The relationship and dialogue between the two cultures, between the East and the West, are a main theme in her work. In N.P she shows how four young people are fascinated in their own way by the autobiography of the mysterious author Sarao Takase. She examines the relationship between fiction and reality, between translation and original. This silent film sheds light on the physical presence of the spoken word through intertitles and is countered by powerful synth pop, noise rock and sound artists from Japan, the US and Belgium.
